Sal Tajuddin specializes in transaction-related financial analysis, due diligence, and deal structuring. He has significant experience in middle-market negotiated restructurings working directly with lenders, borrowers, and financial sponsors in developing business plans, raising liquidity, and implementing turnarounds.
As a restructuring advisor, Mr. Tajuddin has advised stakeholders across many industries in processes to lead parties out of financial crisis. He has advised lenders in multi-bank credit facilities in the working out of distressed portfolio companies, where the resolution may have included extension amendments, covenant recasting, restructurings, bankruptcy, liquidation, or note sales. In bankruptcy-driven restructurings, Mr. Tajuddin has advised creditor committees on large bankruptcies, and he served as the debtor advisor to Chrysler LLC in one of the most significant restructurings in corporate history. He also testified on a cash-collateral matter in re: ABP Holdings, Inc. He has advised a prime rail services contractor with respect to its dealings to an insolvent subcontractor, a lender with respect to its loans to a mid-Atlantic casino-focused advertising agency, and multi-bank lending groups to several continuing-care retirement communities (senior living centers). Mr. Tajuddin’s industry experience includes media, technology, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, and consumer products.
Before becoming a restructuring advisor, Mr. Tajuddin co-founded MCG Capital Corporation, a middle-market business development company that at its peak managed a portfolio of $1.5 billion of loans and equity investments in private transactions and private-equity sponsored companies. As a principal at MCG, he sourced, structured, and restructured over $1 billion of debt and equity investments in the middle market over twelve years. His investing experience includes media, telecommunications, consumer products manufacturers and marketers, franchisors, enterprise software and business services providers, and logistics providers.
